Sugar's Copper Blue is a 1992 music cassette featuring the American alternative rock band's debut studio album, blending thick punk guitar riffs with slowed tempos and emphasized melodies in a power pop style. Written entirely by guitarist/vocalist Bob Mould and co-produced with Lou Giordano, it captures a shimmery, grungy 90s alt-rock sound rooted in his Hüsker Dü past, delivering noisy pop hooks and thrashy energy across its 44-minute runtime on the Rykodisc label.Tracks like the explosive "Helpless," the driving "A Good Idea," and the anthemic "Changes" showcase the cassette's raw guitar layers, humming bass, and doubled vocals that defined the era's indie rock vibe. Housed in a standard cassette shell with vibrant blue-tinted artwork echoing the album's metallic theme, it offers a portable snapshot of melodic punk-pop that remains timeless.
