Sol Gabetta’s Saint-Saens & Lalo: Cello Concertos is a classical music album in the Romantic concerto tradition, released in 2026 on Sony Classical. Presented on CD, it explores the contrasting musical characters of Camille Saint-Saens and Edouard Lalo through historically informed performances on period instruments.Cellist Sol Gabetta performs with the French orchestra Les Siecles, conducted by François-Xavier Roth. The collaboration emphasizes expressive dialogue between soloist and ensemble, combining Gabetta’s distinctive musicianship with the orchestra’s transparent, period-instrument sound. The album offers a vivid portrait of Romantic cello repertoire while highlighting the composers’ individual approaches to orchestral color, drama, and lyrical expression.
